Energi said delineation drilling at Tanggulangin-3 well in Brantas PSC, East Java struck an oil accumulation in the shallower horizon, flowing 776 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) at 539 psig flowing tubing head pressure on a 24/64? choke. The well was originally aimed to delineate gas reserves in the deeper horizon of the field.
Lapindo Brantas, Energi?s subsidiary holds 50 percent working interest in Brantas PSC and is the block operator.
Energi also announced oil discovery in EA location in Malacca Strait PSC off the eastern coast of Central Sumatra. The MSEA-01 well was spudded on June 6 with total depth of 7,454 feet. The main target is to explore hydrocarbon potential of Lower Sihapas, Lower Menggala and transition sand. Production test in the Lower Menggala and transition sand flowing 550 BOPD with water cut of 0.8 percent.
Energi?s subsidiary Kondur Petroleum SA is the block?s operator with 60.49 percent working interest.
Energi also reported that two units of gas compressors had been installed and is the process of commissioning at Wunut gas field in Brantas PSC. Along with compressors installation gas-processing facilities at Wunut had also been expanded to a total plant throughput in excess of 80 MMCFD from 60 MMCFD previously.
Three out of five planned development wells in 2004 had been completed, adding 20 MMCFD in gas deliverability. The remaining two wells would be completed by the end of the year.
Brantas PSC is contracted to supply gas to state gas distribution firm PGN at the sustainable rate of 80 MMCFD.
Energi also said that it had successfully drilling and put on production the Melibur oil development shallow wells and Kuat gas well. The wells said Energi, had added 1,600 BOPD to Malacca Strait production. (alex)
