Publicly listed oil and gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) confirmed Tuesday it had sent two proposals to US oil firms ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil in a bid to acquire interest in Block A PSC in Aceh.
“We have sent two separate proposals for each company (ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil),” EMP president Christopher Newton said.
Block A is operated by ConocoPhillips in a 50:50 venture with ExxonMobil. The block, which currently has gas reserves of around 500 BCF, would supply gas to Aceh fertilizer maker PT. PIM.
The venture is seeking to sell their interest in the block. (godang)
