Energi Mega to flow oil from N. Sumatra block late ?12

IDX-listed oil, gas firm PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) may start oil production from its onshore North Sumatra block late next year, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said.

EMP?s unit that operates the Tonga block PT Mosesa Petroleum will submit Plan of Development (PoD) of the block to the government next month, Deputy Chairman Haposan Napitupulu told Petromindo.com.

According to him, Tonga block will produce 3,000 BPD of oil.

Located between Dumai and Sibolga in Sumatera, the Tonga PSC covers 2,607 km2 and was awarded in 2007 for 30 years. Tonga 1 well has been tested at 700 BPD oil, with several additional opportunities identified in surrounding areas through seismic interpretation, according to EMP?s website. (bernard)
