Energy Minister inaugurates PLTU Sulut

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jerto Wacik is scheduled to officially inaugurate the operation of PLTU Sulut coal-fired power plant in the Tawaang village of Tenga district in South Minahasa regency, North Sulawesi, Kompas.com reported .
The inauguration ceremony of the power plant which has a capacity of 2 x 25 megawatt (MW), will also be attended by the president director of PT Wijaya Karya, Bintang Pergowo, senior executives of PLN and senior government officials from North Sulawesi provincial office and Minahasa regency administration.
PLTU Sulut is built by PT Wijaya Karya which began the construction works in 2008. The construction of the new power plant is part of the government?s first 10,000 megawatt power plant development program.
The power plant, which is built with total cost of about Rp 715 billion, is expected to be able to solve the power supply shortage in the province. (*)
