Energy Minister to kick off construction of Banyu Urip project

Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik and the head of upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS, Raden Priyono, will inaugurate the groundbreaking of the construction of Banyu Urip field facilities within the Cepu block, East Java on December 6.
The block is developed jointly by ExxonMobil and PT Pertamina subsidiaries.
?The groundbreaking of the facilities construction will be inaugurated next Tuesday,? spokesperson of BPMIGAS, Gde Pradnyana, told Petromindo.com.
Gde said the construction of Banyu Urip field facilities is divided in five EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) parts.
Mobil Cepu Ltd. is the operator of the Cepu Block. Mobil Cepu Ltd. and Ampolex (Cepu) Pte. Ltd., both subsidiaries of Exxon Mobil Corporation, hold a 45 percent interest in the block, while Pertamina EP Cepu holding a 45 percent interest and the Cepu Block Cooperation Body (BKS) holding the remainder 10 percent.
