The Company stated in a press statement on Friday that the application was being sponsored by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (?HSBC?).
This development has been championed by EWC to facilitate its plans to expand its business footprint in the Asia Pacific region, and should it be achieved, will potentially broaden EWC?s shareholder base and permit the trading of its shares on the SEHK, thus reflecting the Asia Pacific focus of EWC?s ongoing business and future development plans.
The listing and its timing remain subject to the due process and receipt of all requisite approvals from the Hong Kong authorities. EWC intends to maintain its primary listing on ?the Australian Securities Exchange and the trading of its American Depositary Receipts on the OTCQX in the U.S.
The SEHK is one of the world?s largest stock exchanges in terms of market capitalisation of its listed companies, and provides an efficient, well regulated and transparent market to ?capitalize on opportunities in the Asia Pacific region. There are a number Of key advantages to EWC of listing on the SEHK including being a gateway to the Asia Pacific region and enhanced access to its capital markets.
