Engineering firm confirms Suban gas reserve

Canadian oil and gas company Talisman Energy Inc. said on Wednesday that an independent engineering firm had estimated proved and probable reserve of 4 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas in Suban field within the Corridor Block production sharing contract (PSC) area onshore South Sumatra.

Talisman said the engineering firm also identified additional potential reserves of 5 TCF in Suban field.

Talisman has 36 percent working interest in Corridor Block PSC which is operated by Gulf Indonesia Resources.

Corridor blocks supplies gas to Caltex?s steamflood facilities in Riau and would start to pipe gas to Singapore in the third quarter of 2003. (alex)
