Eni, Anadarko drill dry hole at Bukat PSC

US oil gas firm Anadarko Petroleum Corp. reported on Monday that it and partner Italian oil, gas firm Eni SpA drilled a dry hole in offshore East Kalimantan block.

The Borago well was spud at the end of the 4th quarter in the deepwater Bukat PSC offshore Indonesia. Drilling operations were completed after the end of the quarter, and the well was declared a dry hole, the company said.

Anadarko has a 33.75% working interest in the well, which is operated by Eni.

Meanwhile, the company also reported that it has commenced 3D seismic acquisition program to evaluate the Badik discovery in Nunukan PSC, also in East Kalimantan.

The Badik well well encountered more than 133 net feet of oil and gas pay in Upper Miocene high-quality deltaic sandstones. The discovery well was drilled in 230 feet of water to a TD of approximately 12,950 feet in the Tarakan Basin in the Nunukan PSC. Anadarko is the Nunukan PSC operator with 35 percent interest. (alex)
