Eni eyeing Makassar Straits exploration block

Italian oil, gas firm Eni SpA is eyeing to acquire an exploration block in Makassar Straits, a government official said.

Upstream Director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Eddy Hermantoro told Petromindo.Com last week that the Company has submitted proposal to conduct joint study at the block. He did not give further detail.

Under the joint study scheme, Eni will have first right to acquire the block.

Eni has already has interest in several blocks in the area.(godang)
