Eni has 62 m barrels of reserves in deepwater discovery

Upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS estimates Aster discovery in Bukat PSC offshore East Kalimantan has recoverable oil reserves of 62 million barrels.
A presentation material by BPMIGAS Chairman Kardaya Warnika last week showed that the field is expected to come onstream in 2014.
Bukat deepwater block is operated by Italian oil firm Eni SpA with 66.25 percent interest in Aster discovery. US oil firm Anadarko Petroleum has 33.75 percent interest in Aster.
On May 2007, Eni announced that that appraisal drilling at Aster field has shown 28?API oil flowing at a maximum rate of over 5,000 barrels of oil per day, adding that it would submit Plan of Development for the field. To date, Eni has drilled four wells in Aster.(alex)
