Integration of the hull and topsides of floating production unit (FPU) for Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East Gas Field Development in Muara Bakau block, East Kalimantan, operated by Italian firm Eni SpA has been successfully completed.

This was said by Managing Director of Eni Muara Bakau, Luca de Caro to Petromindo.com on Friday.

?Jangkrik ITM (Integrated Topsides Module) loadout is the world?s largest topsides integration loadout on a Floating Unit ,? Luca said, adding that it has the size of 124.2meters in length, 42.0m in width, 22.8m height and Load-Out Weight of about 14,500 tons.

According to Luca, the execution approach has taken the benefit of a high integration and completion level, typical of a single module construction, but this time applied to the full process plant. ?First gas schedule has been accelerated by about 3 months by adopting this technical solution,? he said.

He explained that Jangkrik Complex Project development entails the deployment of a barge-shaped FPU in a central area with respect to Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East fields, performing full offshore treatment of the multiphase fluids received from the infield production gathering system. The FPU design and fabrication was awarded in February 2014 to the consortium Saipem, Tripatra, Chiyoda and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The FPU hull was built in HHI offshore yard located in Ulsan, Korea. The ITM was under construction in Saipem Karimun Yard and was loaded on the hull in early this month, he said.

PT Saipem Indonesia, a subsidiary of Italian firm Saipem S.p.A, and PT Chiyoda International Indonesia, a subsidiary of Japanese firm Chiyoda Corporation, won the EPCI-1 contract for the Jangkrik FPU in February of 2014. The contract is valued at $1.1 billion. Saipem and Chiyoda collaborate with Tripatra and HHI for the project with Saipem as the leader.

The new-build spread-moored FPU will have the capacity to treat 450 mmscfd of gas plus condensates (LPG) and the scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication of the FPU (hull and topside) and the installation of a mooring system as well as hook-up, commissioning and assistance to the start-up. Gas produced by the FPU will be delivered through the existing East Kalimantan Pipeline facilities to Bontang LNG Plants, which were constructed by Chiyoda.

The Jangkrik project covers two fields in Muara Bakau PSC,namely Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East fields. Eni is the operator of the block with a 55 percent working interest, whereas the other JV partners are GDF Suez Exploration Indonesia, a subsidiary of ENGIE, formerly GDF SUEZ, with33.334 percent stake and Saka Energi Muara Bakau with 11.666 percent stake. In March, this portal reported that GDF Suez planned to sell its stake in the block.
