Eni testing gas discovery at Katak Biru

Italian firm Eni SpA. is conducting test on gas discovery at Katak Biru well of the Muara Bakau block offshore East Kalimantan, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

?Eni discovered tight gas at the Katak Biru well two years ago. They do not know the exact volume of the gas. That?s why the company is now testing the gas discovery,? SKK Migas? Spokesperson Zudaldi Rafdi told Petromindo.com.

SKK Migas previously reported that preliminary results of a drilling at Katak Biru well showed encouraging signs of gas discovery.

Eni is the operator and 55 percent interest holder of the Muara Bakau block, while the remaining 45 percent is held by GDF Suez.
