ENI Krueng-Mane Limited, the operator of Krueng Mane PSC, Offshore Malacca Strait-Sea in North Sumatra, is planning to carry out a 2D marine seismic acquisition at the operation area in the fourth quarter of 2005.

In a recent bid announcement ENI said the total line of full fold survey is estimated to reach 1,727 kilometers with numbers of sail lines of 55. However, the company did not specify the location of the survey.

Krueng Mane exploration block, which was signed in September 1999, is located approximately 50 km north of the Arun LNG (liquefied natural gas) plant. ENI has 100 percent interest in the block.

According to ENI, this block has proven undeveloped reserves of 183 billion cubic feet within the JAU Field and exploration potential of at least 4.5 trillion cubic feet reserves in the three main prospects (BSN, Safir & Emerald).

ENI has recently expressed its interest to supply natural gas from the block to Aceh-based fertilizer PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), according to a BP Migas official. (Robert)
