Eni to produce 300 MMCFD from deepwater block

Italian oil, gas firm Eni SpA may produce 300 MMCFD of gas from its Muara Bakau PSC offshore East Kalimantan with gas reserves estimated at around 2 trillion cubic feet, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said.

Planning Deputy Chairman Haposan Napitupulu said that gas is expected to become onstream from the block in 2015.

He said that Eni will submit plan of development (PoD) for Jangkrik gas field in December 2011.

He also said that Eni will drill 3 exploration wells within the block this year.

Eni, through the Indonesian affiliate, is operator of the Muara Bakau permit with 55% share, with partner GDF Suez holding the remaining 45%

The Joint Venture has already started studies for the fast track development of the discovered gas, that will be routed to the near by Bontang LNG plant where by Eni owns spare processing capacity, Eni said in December 2010. (bernard)
