Italian oil, gas firm Eni SpA will start drilling an exploration well in Krueng Mane PSC offshore Aceh in November, a BPMIGAS official said.

Exploration Division Head Bob Yulian told Petromindo.Com last week that Emerald-1 well, will be drilled to the depth of 11,000 feet.

Emerald-1 will be followed by the drilling of another well called BSN-1, said Yulian.

Krueng Mane exploration block, which was signed in September 1999, is located approximately 50 km north of the Arun LNG plant. ENI has currently 100 percent interest in the block.

Krueng Mane block has proven undeveloped reserves of 183 billion cubic feet within the JAU Field and exploration potential of at least 4.5 trillion cubic feet reserves in the three main prospects (BSN, Safir & Emerald). (godang)
