PT Energi Mega Persada (ENRG), an affiliate of Bakrie Group, Friday announced that its leased Floating Production Unit vessel is flowing gas approximately at a rate of 30 mmscfd from the Kangean PSC block's Terang field to the East Java gas pipeline.

This process is the initial step taken before the commercialization of the gas flow to buyers such as PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pertagas and PT Indogas.

"We are on the right track to start the commercial gas production from our Kangean PSC block's Terang field soon. The first commercial production volume may start at around 30 mmscfd and is expected to gradually increase to the field's full capacity of 300 mmscfd in less than a month thereafter," said CEO Imam Agustino in a statement.

The total output of around 300 mmscfd has been 100 percent contracted at the price of US$ 5.15/mmbtu to PLN, Pertagas and Indogas, and US$4.93/mmbtu to Petrokimia.
