EPC pre-qualification tender for Cilacap plant underway

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina starts on Monday a tender prequalification process for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) works for its Cilacap Langit Biru refinery project.

Interested bidders should have, among others, a 10-year experience in the refinery sector as a contractor or a member of consortium in EPC works in oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical projects with a minimum project unit contract of US$30 million. They will also have to posses a net asset of US$60 million, based on 2010 financial report which has been audited by a public accountant.

Representatives of interested bidders can obtain the pre-qualification documents starting from February 20, 2012 to March 5, 2012. The filled up documents will have to be submitted back on March 16, 2012 at the latest.

As previously reported, Pertamina will build the residual fluidized catalytic cracker (RFCC) within its Cilacap refinery complex in Central Java, which will have an annual capacity to produce 1.9 million kiloliters of high-octane gasoline, 352,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and 142,000 tons of propylene.

Pertamina said that the construction of the new refinery unit is part of the government?s program for national self sufficiency in fuel production by 2018.
