EPC works at Muara Bakau 24% completed

The progress of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) works at the Muara Bakau block in the Makassar Strait, operated by a unit of Italian oil firm Eni SpA., have reached 24 percent, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

The Muara Bakau project consists of three main works including EPCI-1, EPCI-2, floating production unit, receiving facility installation, and a subsea production system.

"(Progress of) The whole project in Muara Bakau has reached 24 percent per March of this year," Head of the Muara Bakau Project Acceleration Unit at SKK Migas, Eko Hariadi told Petromindo.com.

Production at the block is projected to start in the first quarter of 2017. The Muara Bakau block comprises of two major gas projects namely the Jangkrik project and the Jangkrik North East project (JNE). The first is estimated to have a production rate of 300 mmscfd, while the second 150 mmscfd.
