Ephindo plans 6-7 wells CBM drilling campaign next year

Coal-bed methane developer PT Energi Pasir Hitam Indonesia (Ephindo) said it and partners will drill 6-7 exploration wells next year in its three cioncession areas in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan.

President Director Sammy Hamzah said the wells would be drilled in Sangatta-1 block, Kutai block, both are in East Kalimantan and Sekayu block in South Sumatra.

Sammy said Ephindo and partners have completed drilling of one well in Sekayu with total depth of 700 meters. The well is currently being evaluated. Another well in Sangatta-1 block is currently being drilled and has reached the depth of 300 meters from the planned depth of 800 meters.

According to Sammy, each well, cost US$500,000-800,000 to drill. (bernard)
