Essar looks to import coal from Indonesia, S. Africa

Indian conglomerate Essar Group is planning to build a 1,200-MW power plant in Gujarat, as part of its plan to increase power generation capacity from 1,200-MW to 6,500MW over the next five years.
Essar Power Managing Director A.K. Srivastava said on Tuesday that Gujarat plant would be run on imported coal.
?We are looking at Indonesia and South Africa for coal supplies and hope to finalize details within a couple of months,? he said as quoted by PTI. (*)
