Evita Legowo, the director general of oil and gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has her term of office extended by another one year.

A reliable source at the Ministry told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Thursday the extension was effective as of Dec.1. Evita reached the retirement age of 60 years on Nov.3 2011.

The source said that then energy minister Darwin Zahedi Saleh had signed Evita?s retirement, but Darwin?s successor Jero Wacik asked President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to revoke Evita?s dismissal letter and extend her term of office.

Evita was expected to meet Minister Jero this afternoon to discuss her extended tenure as the director general of oil and gas. (bernard)
