EWC says Sengkang expansion to be completed by year end

Australia-listed energy firm Energy World Corporation Limited (EWC) will complete the 120MW expansion of its Sengkang gas-fired power plant in South Sulawesi by year end, giving the plant a total capacity of 3I5MW.

The company said in its recent report that an additional 60 MW gas turbine will enter into commercial operation in the third quarter of 2012 and the second phase, involving a 60MW steam turbine and heat recovery package will be completed by the end of 2012.

Gas for the plant will come from nearby Sengkang PSC, which is operated by the company?s wholly-owned subsidiary, Energy Equity Epic Sengkang (EES).

EWC has 95 percent stake in Sengkang power plant.
