EWC says Sengkang power plant back to commercial operation

ASX-listed firm Energy World Corporation announced on Wednesday that its 60MW gas turbine at its 195-MW Sengkang combined cycle power plant in South Sulawesi has been operating in test mode, while Siemens engineers performed a full commissioning of the machine.

The gas turbine was declared available for commercial operation at 00.00, 8 March 2010 following the successful completion of a Net Dependable Capacity Test (NDCT) as required under the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the Company said

The unit is currently operating at loads between 45MW to 60MW depending on Grid Demand, it added.

The unit had temporarily stopped operating since November of last year.

EWC has 95 percent stake in Sengkang Power Plant. (alex)
