EWC says Sengkang power plant expansion on budget, within schedule

ASX-listed energy firm Energy World Corporation Limited (EWC) reported on Monday that the 60-MW Sengkang Power Station expansion project in South Sulawesi remained on budget and within schedule.

Equipment shipments have already commenced from Europe. The gas turbine, generator, gearbox and other major components are scheduled to arrive at the Sengkang site during March and April 2008, the company said.

The company said earlier commissioning of the power plant would take place October 2008.

The company operates the Sengkang 135-MW combined cycle power plant. It is gradually expanding the power plant's capacity to 315 MW. (alex/denny)
