Australian firm Energy World Corporation said on Wednesday significant progress has been made in the construction of its Sengkang LNG project in South Sulawesi.

?Significant construction progress has achieved on site including the erection of a further two 0.5 MTPA Cold Boxes (total of 4 Cold boxes now erected) and associated Compressors. Construction progress also includes completion of the Slipforming of the 88,800M3 LNG Tank Wall and Ring Beam, the 150kV Switchyard, fabrication of the processing piping and Jetty Loading Platform and Hydraulic Marine Loading Facilities,? the firm said in a statement.

?Works scheduled for the next phase of construction include the erection and installation of the processing pipe works, the structural completion of the LNG Tank roof and mechanical and electrical works for balance of plant,? the firm added.

The firm is developing the Sengkang LNG project on the South Sulawesi coastline, in the same region as its Sengkang contract area and Sengkang combined cycle power plant, to monetise additional gas reserves and contingent resources in the Sengkang contract area in excess of the fuel requirement for the Sengkang combined cycle power plant.

The project consists initially of (i) one modular LNG train with a capacity of 0.5 MTPA, with the three additional trains, depending on gas field development, for a potential total LNG capacity of 2 MTPA, (ii) an LNG storage facility and (iii) an LNG loading capacity.
