EWC starts commercial ops of S. Sulawesi power plant expansion

ASX-listed firm Energy World Corporation announced Monday that its 65 MW Sengkang Expansion gas-fired power plant in South Sulawesi had commenced full commercial operations on November 17, 2008.
?The commercial operations date achieved is five and a half months ahead of contractual schedule established with the state electricity firm PLN,? the company said, adding that now the company operates 195-MW power plant in Sengkang.
The company also announced that on November 18, 2008, the company formally commenced discussion with PLN to further expand the Sengkang Power Plant by from 195 MW to 315 MW by adding gas turbine and heat recovery steam generator.
EWC has 95 percent stake in Sengkang Power Plant. (alex)
