Ex-Caltex workers go to street to protest their pension payment

About 100 former employees of PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI) went to the street and rallied at the front of the oil giant's office in Rumbai, Riau on Monday demanding for an immediate settlement of their pension payment from PT Asuransi Jiwa Tugu Mandiri.
The pensioners, some sitting on their wheel chair, expressed their dissatisfaction over the seriousness of the oil giant to help solve their problem.
Some of the oil giant's retired workers, who still looked energetic despite their old age, accused the oil giant of ignoring its former workers, Riau Pos reported on Saturday,
The daily did not specify why the pensioners carried the rally and protested the oil giant and the insurance company.
But in the placards, the pensioners demanded an immediate settlement of their insurance payment.
The oil giant's did not meet the pensioners and instead sent a letter promising the protesters to settle their problem in a week.
In his letter, RM Galbraith, the managing director of PT Caltex thanked the pensioners for their contribution to the company in the past and promised them to provide a win-win solution within a week. (*)
