Ex-drivers hold protest at Newmont Nusa Tenggara

Dozens of former drivers of Flour Daniel staged a rally at the headquarters of gold mining firm PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) Friday, the Media Indonesia daily reported.

The protesters demanded NNT to hire them as had been promised by the management of Flour Daniel when they ended their job at the latter.

Despite the peaceful rally, NNT decided to send some of its staffs home. The company said that the safety of its employees was their top priority.(*)
