Ex-workers of Thiess Contractors Indonesia, a coalmine contractor of South Kalimantan based coal-mining firm PT. Arutmin Indonesia staged protests and barred workers to conduct activities, causing production and shipment came to a halt.
?Production from Senakin mine had completely stopped since last Friday because workers are afraid to work,? said Sonny Pangestu, Arutmin?s external relations manager.
Ex-Workers also blockade Arutmin's coal shipment facilities in Sembilang and Senakin Timur, causing shipment activities also came to a halt.
Sonny said thus far, the company had not declared force majeur.
Thiess was in dispute over its ex-workers over after it fired 633 workers in June after they refused to return to work.(godang)
