Singapore , Japan and UK are among eight foreign parties that have expressed interest in buying six excess cargos from LNG Bontang.

Deputy upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS for financial affairs Wibowo Suseno Wiryawan said on Wednesday he would examine documents from the eight bidders. "They are offering to take the LNG excess from Bontang," Wibowo told Petromindo.com on Wednesday.

He said Pertamina as the seller would report to BPMIGAS the bidding process.

"We sell six cargos for the time being. We don't know how many the buyers want. It can be two or six. As long as the price does not drop too much, it does not matter," he said.

The cargos will be delivered in the second and third quarters of the year.

When asked if Bontang LNG plant would release 20 more cargos, Wibowo said he had no idea. He added he would refrain from announcing numbers as it would psychologically affect the market. (godang)
