Exco Resources to commence Bengkulu gold prospect drilling

Australian listed gold explorer Exco Resources said on Thusday it would commence drilling in Manna gold prospect, Bengkulu this quarter after mapping and sampling work during the quarter has located alteration and high-grade mineralisation in outcrop exposed in creeks beds.

?Preliminary mapping or mineralized zone in several drainages indicates a close association with a fault structure observed in satellite images. It appears the majority of mineralized float rocks and high gold stream results may be attributed to this structure, which is currently the principal focus of exploration efforts,? said the company in its quarterly report released Thursday.

The company said work is in progress establishing access and surveying locations to enable the company to commence exploration while more detailed mapping and surveying of several other anomalies is also proceeding.

Exco has 90 percent interest in Manna gold project. (alex)
