Exploitasi Energi bags 5-year coal supply deal with PLN

Indonesia-listed firm PT Exploitasi Energi Indonesia (EEI), formerly PT Central Korporindo reported Wednesday that it has started coal supply to state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) this year under a 5-year contract obliging EEI to supply a total of 1.4 million tonnes a year.

Under the contract, EEI will supply 196,320 tonnes a year to PLN?s Indramayu power plant in West Java, 457,000 tonnes a year to Labuan power plant in Banten, 248,000 tonnes a year to Teluk Naga power plant in Banten, 198,000 tonnes a year to Rembang power plant in Central Java and 300,800 tonnes a year to Suralaya power plant in Banten, the company said.

Last year, the company sold only 1.53 million tonnes of coal to its existing buyers including to PT Indonesia Power, a unit of PLN, and to other industrial customers, it said, adding that with the additional contract of 1.4 million tonnes a year, the company is expecting to sell around 2.9 million tonnes of coal for this year.

The company buys raw coal from third party and has it processed through its integrated coal processing facility in Kintap sub-district in Tanah Laut regency, South Kalimantan. The processing facility includes two units of crusher with a capacity of 250 tonnes per hour and 350 tonnes per hour respectively, and a 250-meter long conveyor belt system with a capacity of 850 tonnes per hour.
