Exploration Committee meets experts from 5 top universities

The five universities are University of Trisakti, University of Pembangunan Nasional (UPN, University of Padjadjaran, University of Gajah Mada and Bandung Institute of Technology.
During the discussions, the participants agreed that Indonesia?s potential oil resources are estimated at 7.3 billion barrels while potential gas resources at 151.3 tcf. There have been joint studies the country?s oil and gas resources carried by oil and gas contractors and experts from the five universities over the past 13 years. The meeting concluded that the results of joint studies should be announced to the public.
As a follow up, KEN will cooperate with Pusdatin, the information center owned by the ministry of energy and mineral resources, to publish files containing the joint study results through the ministry?s website. The files will include tables, proposals and five priority areas proposed for further delineation by the five universities. It is expected that investors will be interested to explore the areas.
