Explosion at Krakatau Posco plant, seven injured

A huge explosion at PT Krakatau Posco steel plant in Cilegon, Banten, on Monday, injured seven workers, who were immediately admitted to the company hospital.

Corporate Secretary of Krakatau Posco Christiawaty Ferania Kaseger was quoted as saying Tuesday that the explosion occurred at the steel making plant area, probably caused by water leaking to converter containing liquid steel. ?This caused huge explosion,? she said as quoted by Koran Tempo, adding that investigation was still ongoing.

She added that the company has suspended production following the explosion incident. There was no fatality from the incident. (*)
