Explosives threat Arco gas pipeline

The explosives being used by fishermen in the waters of Sumenep, in East Kalimantan province, is threatening the under water gas pipeline of Arco, according to East Java legislator M. Rofiq.
Rofiq also said that the explosives are also killing the fishes unwanted by the fishermen and were destroying the local corral reef.
He was quoted as saying by the Kompas daily that action must be immediately taken.
He said that the security force in the area must be expanded from the current 10 personnel force to protect the gas pipeline facility, used to transfer gas from the Pagerungan Island to the Porong area in Sidoardjo. (*)
