The government is currently in the process of revising Minister of Trade Regulation No 32/2013, which will require the export of all forms of tin product to be made via the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) in 2015 as the world?s largest tin exporter aims to obtain greater benefit from the commodity.

The regulation has required the export of tin bars to be made via the domestic bourse since August of last year. Secretary of the Futures Exchange Supervisory Board (Bappebti) H. Junaedi said that starting next year, the export of other forms of tin product including tin solders will also have to be made via the ICDX.

?We targeted the revision of the regulation to be completed in early 2015,? he said.

For this year, the ICDX has set a target to have tin contracts transaction volume of 6,000 tons per month, not much different to last year?s volume of 4,000-8,000 tons per month. (*)
