Exspan, PLN to build 5-km gas pipeline in S. Sumatra

Oil and gas producer PT Exspan Nusantara will team up with state electricity company PLN to build a five-kilometer gas pipeline for supplying the commodity to PLN?s new gas power plant in South Sumatra, local daily Palembang Pos reported on Tuesday.

The power plant will be located in Indralaya Disrict in the OKI regency.

The gas pipeline will link the gas transmission network of sate oil and gas firm Pertamina in Muara Enim Regency to PLN?s power grid in Indralaya, Palembang Pos quoted as saying Expan?s manager Reddy.

Reddy said the pipeline was planned to transmit some 15 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas.

Blackout has often occurred in OKI and other parts of South Sumatra.

Exspan is a subsidiary of publicly listed oil miner PT Medco Energy International, and operates in Banyuasin Regency in South Sumatra. (*)
