Exxon spuds Cepu exploration well

U.S. oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. has spudded the Alas Tua West exploration well at its Cepu giant oil and gas block in the border of Central and East Java, according to a news report on Monday .

Maman Budiman, ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia 's External Relation Vice President told Petromindo.Com last month that the company was targeted to drill at a total depth of 4,000 meters with completion estimated within 60-90 days..

The firm used Century rig for the drilling.

After Alas Tua West, the drilling program will move to the Alas Tua East and Kedung Keris exploration wells.

Exxon and Pertamina each have 45 percent stake in Cepu block. (*)
