Exxon spuds Cepu exploration well

U.S. oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. through Mobil Cepu Ltd. has spudded Kedung Keris exploration well at its Cepu oil and gas block in the border of Central and East Java.

Maman Budiman, ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia 's vice president for public & government affairs said that the well was spudded last Friday. The company targeted to drill to a measure depth (MD) of 7,756 feet with completion estimated within 90 days, he said.

Exxon and Pertamina each have 45 percent stake in Cepu. (bernard)
