Exxon to drill deepwater block in 2009

Indonesian unit of US oil and gas giant ExxonMobil Corp. said it would begin drilling its deep water block in 2009.
ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia spokesperson Maman Budiman said in 2007 and 2008, the company would conduct 1,759-km 2D seismic in Surumana block, which is located in Makassar Strait.
Maman said ExxonMobil had 3-well drilling commitment in the block. He did not reveal the investment ExxonMobil would spend to drill the block.
ExxonMobil was awarded Surumana block in September this year. (alex)
