Exxon to drill Makassar Strait block H2 2008

US oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp is planning to start drilling campaign at its Surumana deepwater exploration block in Makassar Strait in August 2008.

The company?s bid invitation posted on national media on Friday revealed that the company is planning to drill two wells in the block, with water depths ranging from 1,500-2,000 meters, plus four optional wells.

Exxon, which has 100 percent interest in the block is currently processing 2D seismic on the block.(alex)
