ExxonMobil donates Rp 5 billion for Aceh education

PT ExxonMobil Indonesia, a unit of U.S. oil and gas giant ExxonMobil Corp., provided on Friday around Rp 5 billion (US$1=Rp 9,100) worth of assistance to help rebuild school buildings in North Aceh which was destroyed in August by fire during attacks by separatist guerillas, the Serambi Post reported.
The assistance was part of the company?s community development program, and the company said it planned to further increase the assistance if security condition in the area continue to improve.
Exxon suspended for several months its gas facilities in Aceh due to concern over security condition. But the company has recently started resuming the operation of three of its four clusters. (*)
