One of state oil and gas company Pertamina's oil production sharing contractors, ExxonMobil, has illegally employed foreign workers as their working licenses are still being processed, according to an informed source at Pertamina.

The source identified the illegal workers as Mitchel, John William, William JC, Dzulkifli David and Rajes Lopez. Those people breached rules stipulated in Law No. 3/1958 on foreign workers.

An official at the foreign workers supervisory division at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, Radja, said that he also got a report that foreign workers had been working illegally at the oil contractor.

But after checking to the field, "It turned out that they were all legal and had met all the requirements," Radja said.

Radja said his office had got recommendations from Pertamina about those foreign workers, and his office would forward the recommendation and its office's recommendation about those workers to the immigration office. (*)
