ExxonMobil Indonesia, susidiary of giant US oil and gas company, said the company will not include the Cendana field within Cepu block as part of the unitization of the development of the Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields.

Exxon made the statement in response to PT Pertamina EP?s proposal to include Cendana field, operated by ExxonMobil, as part of integrated development concept of Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields.

Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by Exxon Mobil Corp unit Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina. The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block operated by MCL.

Asep Sulaeman, SVP Exploration and External Relation of ExxonMobil Indonesia argues that unitization or joint development of fields in different blocks can only be done if they have similar structure.

Jambaran field and Tiung Biru fall in this category, while Cendana field has different subsurface structure.

?Thus the unitization of Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields will not include Cendana field,? Asep told Petromindo.Com.
