ExxonMobil: Flow test at Kedung Keris well shows favorable results

ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd. (EMCL) said that the flow test recently conducted by the company at the KK-1 well in Kedung Keris field within the Cepu block showed favorable results.
?EMCL and our project partners are evaluating concepts to develop the Kedung Keris field,? VP of Public Relations and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Indonesia Erwin Maryoto told Petromindo.com.
He added that the KK-1 discovery well which was drilled at a total depth of 7,032 feet (or around 2,143 meters) was discovered in April 2011.
?The well is located around 14 kilometers northeast of the Banyu Urip field,? Erwin said.
According to an industry source, the production from Kedung Keris field is likely to be linked to Banyu Urip project. Meanwhile, Deputy Planning Control at upstream authority SKK Migas Gunawan Sutadiwirja said that the follow-up of the Kedung Keris project is still in discussions. "Test results showed the KK-1 discovery well flowed oil at at 3,000-4,000 bopd,? he added.
"Thereafter, we shall propose a PoD (plan of development),? he said.
The Kedung Keris oil field is part of the Cepu block, located at the borders of Central Java and East Java. The block is operated by EMCL with a 45 percent participating interest. PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) holds another 45 percent.
