ExxonMobil expects amendment of the environmental impact assessment (Amdal) for the Banyu Urip field in Cepu block, East Java, can be approved by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry soon to allow for planned higher production.

?The Amdal is still in the process of amendment with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Affairs (LHK). We?re cooperating with SKK Migas (upstream regulator) and Ministry LKH to complete the Amdal soon,? said Vice President for Public and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil Indonesia, Erwin Maryoto to Petromindo.com on Monday.

Erwin said that last year?s average production at Banyu Urip stood at 171,000 bopd, and is targeted by the government to increase to 200,000 bopd in 2017.

ExxonMobil through subsidiary ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL) is the operator of the Cepu block.
