American firm ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL) said the Kedung Keris field in Cepu block is scheduled to be onstream in 2019.
?If it goes according to the plan, the production of Keris Kedung field will start in 2019. The oil reserves could reach 20 million barrels, with production of approximately 5,000 bopd," Vice President of Public and Government Affairs at EMCL Erwin Maryoto said to Petromindo.com.
Erwin added that the Plan of Development (POD) of the field was submitted in early April to upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.
"Then SKK Migas requested additional data, and we also submitted it. SKK Migas is currently evaluating further the POD," he said, hoping that in the near future the POD can be approved.
EMCL found oil reserves at Kedung Keris field in 2011. The field is part of the Cepu block, located at the borders of Central and East Java, which is operated by EMCL with a participating interest of 45 percent. Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) holds another 45 percent interest.
Erwin said earlier that once the POD has been approved, and production starts, the output from the Kedung Keris field will be processed at the central processing facility (CPF) of the Banyu Urip field, thus increasing the production of the Cepu block.
