US energy giant ExxonMobil Inc. said on Friday it lauded PT ELNUSA Geosains (Elnusa), a subsidiary of state oil company Pertamina for their outstanding safety and operational performance while conducting a 13-month onshore 3D seismic survey in the Cepu Technical Assistance Contract (TAC) area in Central and East Java provinces. The project was performed for Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation.
During the 13-month period, said ExxonMobil in its release, Elnusa achieved a remarkable record of no Lost Time Incidents in over 9.2 million hours worked during the seismic program.
The field activities began in February 2001 and were completed in March 2002. The project covered an area of 1,213 square kilometers in Bojonegoro and Tuban Regencies in East Java, and Blora Regency in the Central Java Province.
ExxonMobil discovered a reserve of at least 250 million barrels of oil in Cepu TAC and is still conducting further exploration drillings in the area. (alex)
