State oil and gas firm Pertamina said on Wednesday that ExxonMobil had resumed production of its Cluster I and II gas operations in Aceh which had been temporarily halted since Sept. 15 due to fire.
?ExxonMobil resumed gas operations Tuesday night. Cluster I currently produces gas at 18 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) while Cluster II produces 186 MMCFD,? said Pertamina?s spokesperson L. Harijanto.
Prior to the closure, Cluster I and II could produce some 200 MMCFD each.
Harijanto added that Cluster IV had currently been able to produce 257 MMCF of natural gas and 10,000 barrel per day of condensate, while North Sumatra Offshore gas field had been able to flow some 300 MMCFD of gas.
According to Harijanto, Cluster III, which remains closed since March, is expected to be able to resume operation soon.
The closure Cluster I and II gas fields cut 400 MMCFD gas supply to Arun natural gas liquefaction, whose natural gas supply wholly depends from ExxonMobil.
Separately, Pertamina?s downstream director Muchsin Bahar said despite the shutdown, Pertamina would still be able to meet its October obligation to supply 9 to 10 cargoes of LNG to Japan and Korean buyers from Arun NGL. (godang)
