About 30 workers, who represented their 300 friends, met the local manpower office on Monday to report their cause. They have been temporarily laid following the stoppage of ExxonMobil?s operation several months ago.
Based on the working contract, CV Uniba and Son, the manpower supplier of ExxonMobil, should continue to pay salaries in full, including meal and transport allowance, according to the workers.
But the company refused to do so arguing that based on its contract with ExxonMobil the meal and transport payment are paid only when the workers conduct their normal working activities.
The manpower office has also written a letter asking the company to pay the meal and transport allowances but the company did not heed its appeal. (*)
